A developmentally appropriate kindergarten is like a good home, where children can learn through play, cooking, watching, listening, acting, reading/pretend reading and writing/pretend writing. ~ Dorothy P. Hall & Elaine Wiliams, The Teacher's Guide to Building Blocks ~
We ventured through the body this morning learning how to EAT SMART & PLAY HARD. Such a wonderful, educational and fun experience. We learned about the 5 food groups, the brain, mouth, stomach, intestines, lungs, heart, skin, bones, and muscles. The kids were so well-behaved and listened to each of the presentations -- so proud of them! Thank you to all the volunteers and our amazing pe teacher, Coach Heersche, who brought Body Venture to USD #329!
